Short description, free to copy as-is.
OnlyHens is a 24/7 YouTube livestream, filmed with three cameras, from a backyard in Mariefred, a small town by Lake Mälaren west of Stockholm, Sweden. It follows Boris the rooster, his four hens and a newly hatched chick as they go about their day: dust baths, egg-laying and serious pecking-order negotiations. Many viewers keep it running all day as a kind of slow TV.
Viewers anywhere in the world can feed the flock remotely. A payment on onlyhens.tv drops a portion of popcorn from a home-built feeder, live on camera, and ten minutes later the buyer receives a replay of their own feeding by email. Viewers in fourteen countries on four continents have fed the hens, with more than 400 feedings so far.
OnlyHens started in 2025 as a joke and has grown into a serious hobby project. The feeder, payment system and livestream were built by Robin Calmegård, a Swedish radio host and software developer.

The human behind the hens.
By day, Robin Calmegård is a radio host on the Swedish national radio station Mix Megapol and runs several tech companies. Robin also built the whole OnlyHens setup: the home-built popcorn feeder, the payment system and the livestream itself.
More about Robin“I honestly have no idea why. Maybe it’s the Dutch love of chickens, maybe it’s the humour. If anyone knows, I’d love to hear it.” – Robin Calmegård, on why Dutch viewers feed the hens more than almost anyone
